Download your free Andy Access poster artwork as part of IPAF’s highly successful campaign to promote safer work practices when operating access platforms.
The ‘Use Spreader Pads!’ poster encourages people to check the ground conditions and use online tools such as the Outrigger Pad calculator to identify if spreader plates are required; and to determine the correct size of outrigger pad.
The ‘Setting Up on a Slope’ is a handy reminder to operators of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), as well as site managers, that spreader plates should only be used on level and stable ground. Use of outrigger pads on slopes can actually increase the risk of a platform slipping or tipping over.
The ‘Unsafe Ground?’ is aimed at users, operators and site managers to ensure that they ALWAYS check the ground conditions first before setting up powered access platforms or any type of equipment to prevent unstability and risk the equipment overturning. This includes carrying out risk assessments, checking for underground services or cellars and unsafe ground.
The Andy Access posters are designed to help communicate the valuable learning outcomes identified from the IPAF accident reporting project, and as a means of reinforcing the key messages covered in IPAF training programmes.
